What is a "Statusbar" in an Application?
A statusbar is a horizontal bar found at the bottom of the main window of some applications that displays short messages and other information about the current state of the application. The statusbar is typically used to display hints about the currently selected tool or about interface elements currently being hovered by the mouse cursor.
Observations
Ghost Statusbar: Many modern web browsers do not have statusbars, but they will display the URL of a link being hovered on the bottom-left corner of the window, in a manner very similar to what would occur if they had a statusbar.
