What is FFmpeg?
FFmpeg [www.ffmpeg.org] is a command-line tool for editing videos. Although it's possible to use FFmpeg directly to edit videos, normally you use a frontend instead, an application that provides a GUI to control FFmpeg, such as Avidemux. Many video editors use FFmpeg as backend, so if it works in FFmpeg, ti works in all of them, and if it doesn't, it doesn't.
