How to Save Posts on Bluesky

Share

Although currently there is no way to save posts on Bluesky (also called "bookmark" or "favorite" posts), there are alternatives that you can use if you want to remember a post or revisit it later. These alternatives only work if you're accessing Bluesky via a web browser, and may not work on the app.

The alternatives would be:

  1. Using the bookmarks of the browser.
  2. Save the post itself to your PC.
  3. Send the URL of the post to yourself via e-mail.

Browser Bookmarks

You can use the bookmark function of the web browser itself. Most browsers support this functionality.

1: on a post on Bluesky, click on the date or time of the post to go to the post's page.

2: on the browser's address bar, click on the star icon or bookmark icon to add the post to your bookmarks.

If you intend to save many posts, it makes sense to create a folder in your browser's bookmarks to organize them better.

Saving the Post Itself

Another option would be to take a screenshot of the post and save it as a file in some folder in your computer.

If the post you want to save is an image, e.g. a photo, a comic, or a meme, you can also save only the image to your computer. To do this, follow the following steps:

1: click on the image to display its original size.

2: click with the right mouse button on the large image to show its context menu in the browser.

3: click on "Save Image As..." and choose where to save it.

Send the URL to Your E-mail

Another option would be to use your e-mail to send an e-mail to yourself with the URL of the post, this way the e-mail would be in your e-mail inbox. To do this, click on the three dots button on the post and click in "Copy link to the post." This will copy the URL of the post.

Lots of people do this for some reason.

If you have an account on Google, you can also use Google Keep, a service to write annotations, to create a note of the URL.
