What are Computer Speakers?

The audio speakers of a computer are devices responsible for playing most* of the sounds coming from the computer, such as beeps, music, sound effects from games, and audio from videos that you are watching. In a stereo sound system, you'll have a pair of speakers, one at your left and one at your right.

*One exception are beeps coming straight from the computer tower, which are beeped when the computer starts up, during the boot process, and, in some cases, when there is a problem with the hardware, e.g. when the temperature of the computer is extremely high.

Computer speakers com in all shapes and sizes, some small, some large, and some even round.

Some people even connect car speakers to their computers. That doesn't work directly, though, because the volume of the audio depends on the amount of electricity that goes through the speakers. So to power a large speaker, you would need an amplifier.
