What?! You Can Post a Whole Thread at Once on Bluesky?!

A feature I discovered on Bluesky by accident is that you can post a whole multi-post thread (🧵) by clicking on the plus sign (+) button at the bottom of the post form, next to where you select the language of the post (e.g. "English").

A form in a dialog window with 3 posts one on top of the other. Each post starts with a thread emoji. The first reads 1/57, always win you battles. The second 2/57, never let them laugh at you. The third 3/57 always be rested. A button on the top-right corner reads "Post All."
How the post form looks in Bluesky when you're posting a whole multi-post thread. (the text is the first three of the 57 precepts of Zote, Hollow Knight (2017)).

In some text-based social media like Bluesky, posts have a character limit. On Bluesky, that character limit is 300 characters, which means you can't type more than 300 letters. Users get around this limitation by posting one post then replying to their own post with additional text, creating a "thread" of posts that is just a series of replies to themselves.

Bluesky has a neat feature that lets you post multiple posts at once, so you can write the whole thread before posting it. It's activated by clicking on the plus button. After doing that, the "Post" button becomes a "Post All" button. It's a good idea to use this feature because you can't edit posts after posting them, so if you get something wrong in your 57 post thread, the only way to fix it is by deleting all posts and starting over.

It's likely the reason why this feature exists on Bluesky is because it also exists on Twitter. I never noticed the plus button next to the "Tweet" button Twitter!

I checked Mastodon and Threads and neither have such button.
