What is the Clipboard in the Computer?
The clipboard is where things that are copied (or cut) go before being pasted. That is, when you select a piece of text, or part of an image, and Ctrl+C it, it goes to the clipboard, and when you Ctrl+V, it comes out of the clipboard. In practice, pasting doesn't really remove things from the clipboard, it just creates a copy of what's in the clipboard, and it's possible to paste multiple times from a single copy.
The clipboard is a virtual object part of the operating system. In some cases, the clipboard may not even be a tangible place in the computer, but a mere concept: when you copy something from one application, the data isn't actually copied and moved to the clipboard at that instant, instead, it's when you paste it in another application that the system asks the application where the data was copied to actually create a copy of the data.
