GifCities (GifCities.org) is a website where you can search for old GIFs, those small animations full of pixels of pages from the 90s and the start of the millennium.
According to the website1, it is a project by the Internet Archive that extracted and indexed over 4.5 million GIFs from pages of the famous hosting service Geocities, founded in 1994 and shut down in 2009.
How to Use
All you have to do is type in the search box for a term that you want to search and click the search button. After loading for a bit, a screen will appear with various GIFs relevant to the term searched.
Each GIF is a link! When you click a GIF it will go to the page where the GIF was found. As these pages were all hosted in a service that shut down, the link actually goes to the URL of the archived version of the page in the Internet Archive.
