Alternatives for Google

Share

Some alternatives for Google as a general web search engine are:

  1. Kagi (requires payment to use.)
  2. Bing (cluttered with AI features now.)
  3. Yandex (primarily Russian, impressive reverse image search.)
  4. Brave Search (ignores underscores (_), making it unusable for coding.)
  5. Wiby (only searches small websites.)
  6. Mojeek (not very stable at time of review.)
  7. Kiddle (specially made for child audiences.)

There are many other alternative search engines available, specially that claim to be privacy-focused, such as DuckDuckGo, and Ecosia which plants trees with ad-revenue from your searches. However, these engines do not have their own index or web spider: they mainly return results that come from Bing, which means using them is like using Bing with a different theme. Although Kiddle is also powered by Google, it's worthy listing because it uses a manually curated set of websites.
